This event showcased the increasing demand for olive oil and JOO’s growing appeal in the world market.

Exploring Oleotourism

In an exciting development, Jordanian Olive Oil is exploring the vast potential of olive oil tourism, in collaboration with the Jordan Tourism Board and the Ministry of Tourism. This initiative aims to highlight Jordan’s ancient olive trees and scenic destinations, offering a unique experience that combines the country’s rich olive oil tradition with its cultural heritage.

A Rich Heritage

Jordan is home to several local olive varieties, including Nabali, Nabali Muhassan, Rasie, Souri, and the recently preserved ancient Mehras variety. Each offers a unique taste and aroma, reflecting Jordan’s longstanding olive oil tradition. Jordanian extra virgin olive oil, assessed by seven certified sensory evaluation panels in accordance with the International Olive Council’s (IOC) standards, is recognized for its excellent sensory properties, making it a premium choice for sophisticated consumers worldwide.

A World Class Player

In 2022, Jordan proudly took the chair of the International Olive Oil Council (IOC), further solidifying its leadership in the olive oil sector. The launch of the sector’s brand and website (www.jordanianoliveoil.com) both nationally and internationally, has been a significant step in promoting Jordanian Olive Oil across the globe.
